Yes, all teachers are qualified and several hold post graduate degrees and PhDs. Many also teach at prestigious educational establishments including independent and grammar schools.

Do students receive homework?
Yes they do. Homework is given every week and it is compulsory that it is completed and returned the following Saturday.
We are keen to give every student individual attention. Class sizes are small, sometimes as few as 3 depending on the needs of the students. The maximum class size is 14 and for some classes there are two teachers present to ensure that effective learning takes place.
What sort of grades do your students achieve?
This very much depends on the student, however those who are committed, dedicated, work hard and give our teachers their full cooperation have exceeded the predicted grades of their day school. The norm is A* - C. Most Summit Saturday School students are at the top of their class.
Students are streamed and are placed in matched ability groups. Testing at various intervals during the academic year can result in students being moved up to a higher set.
Yes, parents receive reports at the end of each term. We also have an open door policy and invite parents to bring their concerns. We are here to provide solutions and help solve problems related to your child's education. Communication between school and home is strongly encouraged.
What time do lessons start?
It depends on your child's age and ability. School starts at 08.30 and ends at 13.30. There are several classes for each subject.
Every lesson lasts for one hour. Students change classrooms for each lesson and are requested to change classes quickly, in order to be punctual for the start of the next lesson.
What age children do you take?
We accept students from KS2 to AS/A2. Out intake begins at age 8.
Do you have good discipline in your school?
Yes indeed! We have a very strict behavioral policy. Students must show respect to teachers, each other and guests at all times. The classroom is a place for study and students are expected to observe this rule to the letter.
What is the atmosphere and environment like at Summit Saturday School?
There is a very friendly, supportive atmosphere at Summit Saturday School, There is a family atmosphere. Very strong friendships have been forged between students, and parents have the added advantage of getting to know their children's friends, and their parents and teachers.

Do I need to bring any documents to the interview?
Yes, a copy of your son or daughter's most recent school report would be helpful. If it is a student in Year 10, we would like to know what Board they are sitting and whether their examination is linear or modular.
