GCSE Examination that have been withdrawn

There has been a shake-up in the GCSE examination system particularly in relation to GCSE English, GCSE Mathematics and GCSE IT and many old familiar examinations have been withdrawn. Most were offered for the very last time in June and November 2011 and March 2012 is the final sitting for Edexcel 1380 GCSE linear Mathematics.

It is worthwhile checking to see if the examination you wish to retake as a private candidate is still available and/or look for the specification on the website of the examining body.

We realise that many private candidates are unaware of these changes and hope that this information proves helpful.
