Job Title: Teacher
Responsible to: The Principal
Main Tasks:
To maintain a system of assessment for new pupils entering at KS3, GCSE & A level and mark them.
To set and mark homework each week and give relevant feedback.
To provide own teaching resources.
Be able to guide, mark and assess GCSE coursework.
Be familiar with the requirements of the main examination boards for A Level, GCSE
To prepare appropriate materials and activities to ensure high quality learning to all students.
To complete a register of attendance at all lessons taught.
To. Keep a record of students’ progress and marks in all assessed work.
To write end of term reports for all students taught.
To organize and conduct mock examinations for each class taught at an appropriate time in the school timetable (in consultation with the Principal).
To create schemes of work for own class.
To participate in staff meetings.
To know and understand the aims and objectives of Summit Saturday School.
Promote innovation and change as necessary to move the school forward.
Liaise with other teachers in the Department in arranging timetable and rota’s.
Assist in the overall monitoring through discussion, observation, analysis of planning of teaching and learning standards in the classroom. Develop strategies to improve standards.
Help to develop the overall effectiveness of the curriculum.
Help to develop an overall school/department action plan based on set objectives and from information gained through regular monitoring, observation, discussion consultation and data analysis.
Assist in the good conduct, discipline and well being of all the children in the school.
Ensure that a high standard of education is maintained at all times in the Department.
To motivate and inspire all pupils, and treat them with respect.
To provide support/guidance and information to subject colleagues.
To support the principal in the smooth running of the school.
To be available to work every Saturday during term time.
To attend and support the end of year Annual Awards Ceremony.
