Guidelines for GCSE, iGCSE  and A LEVEL EXAMINATIONS

Important Information for Candidates

Summit Saturday School is a Registered Centre for the awarding bodies.  These guidlines relate to the day of your examination.

  • You must bring your ID document(s) with you to the examination and be prepared to produce them on inspection by JCQ Inspectors.
  • The examination venue is : John Morris House, 164 St John’s Hill, Battersea SW11 1SW
  • Directions:  From Clapham Junction Station, take the exit for St. John’s Hill.  Cross the road to the bus stop outside Barclays Bank and take buses 37,337, 156, 87, 39, or 170.  Alight at Marcilly Road, which is approximately 3 stops.  You will notice St. John’s Therapy Centre opposite the bus stop.  Cross at the zebra crossing (so you are on the same side as St John’s Therapy Centre.)  The slip road directly facing the zebra crossing has a sign “John Morris House”.  Walk approximately 6 meters along the slip road, John Morris House is the first building on the right.  If you are travelling from the other direction (Richmond, Putney), the landmark is John Morris House.  If you have any problems finding the venue call us on 0207 193 4186. You are advised to familiarise yourself with the venue in advance and not leave it until the day of the examination.

The date of your examination will be confirmed on your Statement of Entry, which will be sent to you as soon as it is available from the awarding body.  It is an important document which you must keep safe and bring to the examination.  The duration of your examination will be shown on your Statement of Entry.  It is advisable to arrive at least 15 – 30 minutes before the start of the examination.  Morning examinations start at 09.30am.  Afternoon examinations start at 1.00pm.

The Examination Room:  On arrival, if you have a mobile phone or other digital device, switch it off and hand it to the Invigilator.  Bring the required equipment and writing materials for your examination.  We do not provide pens, rulers or calculators.  Calculators must be free of lids and memory cleared, cases and covers which have printed instructions must be removed. You are allowed a bottle of water on your desk which must be transparent with no outer labels.
